IELTS Result – When and how to get an IELTS score
IELTS test results
1. FIND RESULTS ONLINE
Candidates can look up their results online and receive a hard copy (TRF) 13 days after the written test for the paper-based IELTS test and five to seven days after the test date for the computer-based IELTS test. . To ensure the confidentiality of information, candidates' results are not announced via phone messages and emails. Candidates, please visit the website below to look up test scores online.

2. RECEIVE RESULTS DIRECTLY AT THE OFFICE OF THE Brother Council
Candidates can collect their TRF scores directly at the British Council's Customer Service Counter (Exams Department).
In Hanoi: 8.30–18.30 (Monday–Friday); 8.30–12.00 and 13.30–16.30 (Saturday)
In the city. Ho Chi Minh: 8.30–19.00 (Monday–Friday); 8.30–16.30 (Saturday)
3. SEND RESULTS AND AUTHORIZATION RECEIVING EXAMINATION RESULTS TO CUSTOMERS
The British Council will “directly send” up to five additional transcripts of your TRFs free of charge to the institutions you are applying to (e.g. universities, immigration offices, etc.) exam results. Please note that institutions require original TRF transcripts. Photocopies will not be accepted. Candidates, please provide the full address and postal code of the organizations you need to apply for. Without the full address, we cannot check that the organization has access to the Online Results Checking Service. If your institution needs to submit a transcript that is not subscribed to this service, we will mail your TRF.
Will I be given extra transcripts of IELTS results?
If you want us to send copies of your results to an IELTS accreditation body in addition to the five copies we have provided, you will have to pay a fee for mailing by air or by courier.
If your local test center is closed, you can request additional transcripts at ielts.org.
You will need to provide the institution's address and fill out the "Application for Additional Test Report Form". Attach a copy of your IELTS result and passport to the application form and email it to exams.hanoi@britishcouncil.org.vn (Hanoi) or exams.hcmc@britishcouncil.org.vn (TP) Ho Chi Minh City). We will then send a copy of the TRF directly to the organization.
Please note an additional transcript will take approximately 10 days to process.

What does my IELTS score reflect?
You will be scored on an IELTS scale of 0–9 for each skill, which reflects your ability to use English.
The resulting transcript will show the score for each skill (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking) and the total score. You can get around score (eg 5.0, 6.0, 7.0) or an odd score (eg 5.5, 6.5, 7.5) for each skill.

How long are my IELTS results valid?
Institutions generally do not accept transcripts beyond the two-year deadline. After this time, you will have to provide evidence to show that you have guaranteed or improved your English skills from the date of the test. IELTS partners will not be able to validate your results if two years are overdue
How to request a review?
In case you are not satisfied with your test results, you can request a re-examination. This request is called the Enquiry on Results (EOR). You can request a review of each section at the exam board you have registered for.
Fee for application for re-evaluation (The same fee applies to all cases of re-examination for one skill or four skills)
IELTS review fee: VND 2,200,000 IELTS UKVI review fee: VND 2,900,000 IELTS Life Skills review fee: VND 2,175,000
Fees will be refunded if your score increases for any of the sections.
You need to request a review six weeks in advance of the test date.
Please download the “Enquiry on Results Form” in the “Download” section below, print it out with a handwritten signature, and send it to the Examination Board. Please attach the authorization to send it back to us.
If your results change, you will be asked to return your original transcript before receiving a new one. Please contact the Examinations Committee if you have any questions regarding the review process.
The review process will take between two and 21 days to complete.
Can I retake IELTS?
There is no time limit on taking the exam. When you are ready to take the exam, you can register at any time.
